Loan Services
The services offered by the library to its registered users are the loan services related to the books to be taken out of the library (home) and attendance (in the reading rooms).
Loan Conditions
A user must have a valid user card which is needed to be registered when being in the library for the first time and update the registration on a regular basis.
The user must not have any financial or material obligations towards the library (unreturned books with exceeded term of loan).
How to Borrow a Book
Books may be borrowed by means of computerized charging system Aleph. In order to be able to work with the VŠE Union Catalogue, the valid registration is needed. Upon log in you can order, book or extend the term of the borrowed books.
Information about your reader’s account can be found when you press the button READER.
Loan Periods
A loan period is subject to the status of the loan and user, unit status is always stated in the unit record:

35-day loan period, 2 renewals possible

for 1 semester
|
Internal users: 5-month loan period, cannot be renewed

External users: 1-month loan period, 2 renewals possible

short-term
|
1-week loan, 2 renewals possible

attendance
|
exceptionally – loan from the reading rooms, so-called “overnight“ – before circulation record is closed by 10:00 a.m. of the following working day

Renewal of the Loan Period
A loan period can be renewed if the book is not reserved for another reader. The renewal is possible to be made online in the Uep Union Catalogue, by phone (224 095 581), in person at the charging desk or by e-mail at prodluz@vse.cz (at least 1 day before expiration of the loan period).
In case of late return, the fees for delay are charged according to the valid Library Pricelist of the University of Economics.
